Supernova Science is pleased to offer in-person classes for the Fall 2020 semester.
Cost
Total cost includes 9, 45-minute sessions.
Cost varies by grade:
$240: per student in grades K-5
$280: per student in grades 6 and 7
$330: per student in a Learning Pod (grades can vary)
Science class topics are specifically designed to follow the Virginia elementary science program of studies. I will also spend some time reviewing topics students would have learned in the 4th quarter of the 2019-2020 school year.
Classes are hands-on and lab based. If Virginia moves back to COVID-19 Phase 2 during the sessions, all in-person classes will move to virtual classes and your child will be provided with a lab kit for the remaining labs.
In-Person Classroom
In-person classes will be held on a screened-in porch with appropriate social distancing. Students are required to wear a mask at all times. Desks will be sanitized after every class. A UV sanitizing box will be used to disinfect school supplies, goggles and other lab equipment between classes. Students will be provided with their own disinfected set of markers, pencils as well as lab materials. Students will not be paired up for labs so each student will have the opportunity to complete the lab on their own.
Class Dates (Mondays)

Please contact Supernova Science if interested at donna@supernovascience.com.
Supernova Science classes consist of inquiry based units that research has shown to be most effective for student achievement in science. The lessons include science process skills that develop students ability to think and perform like a scientist. They are designed to encourage children to investigate the nature of the world around them through participation in scientific investigations and develop ways to be environmental stewards. Kit materials correlate with the lessons so that students can have hands-on experiences to better understand science concepts. Students are provided opportunities to apply this knowledge to solve problems and understand the nature of science.
